We are seeking a leader for Amazon's outbound customer communication platform. This platform is responsible for all customer messaging, owning the unique experience of talking to the customer directly. The space includes all of Amazon’s email, push, SMS, and other forms of directly addressable notifications.

The impact of this product is immense. It supports Amazon world-wide and 11 other Amazon-owned subsidiaries, sending billions of messages each year to a substantial percentage of all people on earth. Experiments run on the platform create statistically significant differences in Amazon’s total earnings. Thousands of teams at Amazon leverage the platform as a key component to their product strategy.

In Amazon’s bottom-up culture, you as the manager are empowered to independently make business decisions about where to invest, to guide your team through implementation, and to make sure your systems meet the high standards of reliability that customer communication demands. Your platform involves some of Amazon's most sophisticated distributed systems, providing you the ability to solve hard technical problems while moving the needle for Amazon's 5-10 year customer communication strategy.

High throughput, ultra-high reliability systems require engineers who are the best in the world. As their manager, it will be your job to grow the technical skills, business judgment, and independence of the engineers on your team.
