    AWS Global Professional Services is looking for an experienced DevOps consultant with deep technical expertise in their specialty area with the ability to travel internationally as required to support our customers. They will have a strong combination of relevant industry and technical experience plus exceptional people skills. They will be fast learners and serve as trusted advisors for our customer’s architects and IT leaders. They will collaborate with multiple AWS engineering teams to introduce and refine new platform web services for our Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) customers. The team will harvest, package and publish HCLS best practices and repeatable offerings to AWS partners to accelerate their transition to a cloud based IT model using AWS.
    Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.
    Responsibilities and Abilities include:

    Expertise: Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Codestar, etc.
    Solutions: Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer DevOps requirements that drives AWS platform adoption for HCLS customers. Define and deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in on-site visits, understanding customer DevOps requirements, proposing and delivering packaged offerings, and delivering custom solution engagements.
    Thought Leadership: Provide enterprise thought leadership on DevOps solutions that benefit customers through the use of AWS Services. This takes the form of contribution to external publications such as the AWS Blogs, Whitepapers and Reference architectures.
    Delivery: Lead high quality delivery of a variety of deeply technical engagements with partners and global customers, enabling breakthrough business outcomes.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Functional understanding of one or more relevant industry regulations and standards such as HIPAA, GxP, CDISC, and other industry regulatory, security and compliance frameworks
    • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Math background preferred
    • 3+ years experience with tier 1 HCLS organizations
    • 7+ years of IT implementation experience
    • Experience building sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure
    • Experience automating a production environment including experience with build scripts used for release management across all environments
    • Customer facing experience to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
    • Hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or current hands on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization
    • Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
    • Ability to travel to client locations as required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Thorough understanding of several relevant industry regulations and standards such as HIPAA, HL7, CDISC, 21CFR Part 11, IDMP, HITRUST, GDPR, and other industry regulatory, security and compliance frameworks
    • Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, S3) and DevOps tools (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Codestar)
    • Integration of AWS cloud services with on premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
    • Understanding and experience with code deployment (tagging)
    • Experience with Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments with many nodes
    • Familiarity with CloudFormation and JSON
    • Strong scripting skills, i.e., Powershell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.
    • Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewalling
    • Familiarity with any monitoring tools like Nagios, Incinga, SiteScope, etc.
    • Experience with revision control source code repositories (Git, SVN, Mercurial, Perforce)
    • Management of continuous integration servers like Jenkins, Bamboo and TeamCity
    • Experience with automated testing tools (ie. Selenium, JMeter)
    • Understanding of solutions architected using microservices (SOA)
    • Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. shell, Python, Ruby, PowerShell)
    • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
