Amazon Music is growing fast, with Prime Music and now Unlimited! Check out our well-reviewed apps on iOS and Android. Check out our web player at http://music.amazon.com. Enjoy the voice experience with Alexa on Echo and third-party devices!

As a Senior Engineering Manager you will be responsible for delivering the core technology for Music playback. You will be at the very center of delivering a good experience to our customers - the music itself! In this role you'll lead the team building the Amazon Music client-side playback library.

Your team builds a native code library with C++ and delivers it across many platforms, including iOS, Android, FireOS, MacOS, Windows, and Linux. The library is responsible for communicating with the service to retrieve audio, decrypt DRM, decode the audio, and perform additional signal processing.

You will be responsible for leading the effort to invent and build many new solutions that solve variety of customer facing problems. You'll do this by bringing your own passion for music and by obsessing over the customer's experience using our service. You'll also bring your genius architectural chops to drive engineering improvements across our entire client/service layer affecting all teams, not just your own.
The ideal candidate is interested in being part of a nimble team, passionate about innovating for customers, and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products. You'll have experience building teams and promoting people. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills to both business and technical partners are absolute requirements. The role requires leaders with technical depth to guide the development process, project management skills to insure the proper solution is delivered to customers, and organizational skills to drive improvements across an organization. You bring an attention to detail and an ability to dive deep into technical issues.
