    The speech data services team is part of Amazon’s speech platform organization that provides speech recognition capabilities for a variety of Amazon products and searches, most visibly, the recently launched Amazon Echo product.

    Demand Forecasting Manager is a newly created role where we are looking for an exceptional leader who is passionate about the Customer Experience, who thinks/acts globally, and who has the ability to formulate business problems. He/she will experience a wide range of problem solving situations, strategic to real-time, requiring extensive use of data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate is a leader with demonstrated ability to learn new capacity planning methodologies, to analyze large data sets, predictive modelling and demand forecasting processes. This opportunity requires excellent problem-solving, communication skills and a strong track record of delivering results, problem solving, data oriented decision making, and executive presentation skills are essential.

    The successful candidate will work in lock-step with multiple business teams, technology platform teams, Finance and Leadership. He/she will:
    · Design, build and implement demand forecasting model that will allow ADS organization to estimate customer interactions with Alexa platform
    · Analyze data sources and determine variables impacting customer interactions across the device life cycle
    · Identify/Implement forecasting techniques and analytic tools that will predict customer interactions by language and features
    ·Coordinate with data engineering, Business Intelligence, device demand planning, Alexa expansion and finance teams to maintain and update volume plans
    · Communicate these plans and report on their execution to various stakeholders, and continuously improve the planning and execution cycle
    · Lead Projects to improve planning efficiency and support worldwide network of business units, and operational centers.
    · Monitor performance by analyzing performance statistics and financial results; evaluate actual incoming variance to plan and adjust forecast at a regular cadence
    · Prepare management reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends and developing recommendations

    Basic Qualifications

    · A Master's degree in an analytical or quantitative field.
    · 6+ years’ of overall experience in a consumer-facing or operations organization
    · 2+ years' of experience in working as part of large scale supply chain teams
    · Experience using SQL or other database querying language for data extraction and analysis
    · Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, and modelling
    · Experience in managing multiple stakeholders in an global setup with stakeholders present across the globe
    · Experience in designing predictive/forecasting models for large scale demand planning teams

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Advance Degree (MS/Phd) in the field of statistics/data analytic or operation research
    · Experience in statistical data modelling through excel/R or related tools
    · Demonstrated ability to set up processes to scale up operations in a fast paced organization
    · Experience in working in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired and ambiguity is the norm

    • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders, peers and executives, and the ability to generate and communicate meaningful metrics representing end-user experiences for speech products and services
    • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
