    Dangerous Goods Classification and Regulatory Policy Risk Manageris responsible for ensuring the WW Dangerous Goods Inventory Classification and proper handling throughout the supply chain. As a member of the Dangerous Goods team, you will be responsible to ensure dangerous goods products are stored and shipped in accordance with local, state, federal, and international regulations WW.

    The successful candidate will work closely with Amazon Dangerous Goods local teams, Legal, Technology Development Teams, Retail, FBA and Compliance Operations teams.
    The successful candidate shows excellent judgment and instincts in decision making and proactively and continually improves their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business, its platform, relevant technologies, and Regulatory requirements. This is an exciting and challenging position that provides Dangerous Goods support for our Amazon Fulfillment Network of vendors and sellers. This position will develop global program, solutions and processes, and support ongoing operations of the WW Dangerous Goods program in our rapidly growing and evolving business.

    Key responsibilities
    • Ensure that regulatory requirements are met for existing and new products
    • Leverage technology to manage compliance processes
    • Identify patterns in data and craft pointed search terms to find specified products
    • Create and monitor business metrics to track compliance and process effectiveness
    • Drive scalable business solutions which ensure compliance with consumer product regulations
    • Continuously identify and communicate improvement opportunities
    • Develop best-in-class processes and systems while driving continual improvements
    • Own relationship with remote teams ensuring work accuracy, timeliness, and program improvements
    The successful candidate possesses a keen eye for detail and quality, works well with ambiguity, has strong curiosity and desire to learn, and is a determined self-starter who excels with decision making and follow through.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), preferably in chemistry, material science, mathematics or other related field;
    • Ability to obtain and maintain hazardous materials certification
    • Ability to understand, troubleshoot and describe complex technical processes and issues;
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills;
    • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to drive projects;
    • Must be able to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills;
    • Must be able to use Excel, Word and other common desktop software applications. Must also be comfortable learning web applications and proprietary software;
    • Ability to manage large and complicated data sets;
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting;
    • Ability to work under time pressure and meet performance goals;
    • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team;
    • Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MBA or Advanced Science degree;
    • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulation Training Certified;
    • Familiar with DOT, ADR, CLP, GHS and the Fire and Defense Laws;
    • Multi-lingual is a strong asset;
    • Technical Expertise, creative approach to system and process solutions; Advanced computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word); Data-warehouse tables;
    • Knowledge and practical skills in applying Lean Six Sigma (LSS) philosophy and methodology;
    • Previous experience in tech, electronics, consumer goods, or other fast-paced, technology driven businesses;
    • Strong presentation/ training delivery experience;
    • Experience in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance and/or Product Development;
    • Previous experience with influencing, consultation/advisement and improving remote operations;
    • Knowledge of scripting languages is preferred but not essential for success
