Job Description

Do you want to help educators prepare students to join and be successful in the cloud-enabled workforce? AWS Educate is looking for an innovative, driven, talented Educator Community Manager with experience developing and managing the implementation of scalable and impactful programs. The Educator Community Manager will drive adoption of Amazon Web Services' tools and services in the classroom for our growing learning community. AWS Educate is part of Amazon Web Services Public Sector group and is focused on supporting educators in teaching cloud fundamentals and project-based learning using AWS, and enabling students to use the hands-on experience gained in class to start careers in the cloud. Launched in 2015, AWS Educate is focused on building bold initiatives to accelerate the integration and application of Cloud content and tools into classrooms around the globe. AWS Educate members include universities, colleges, community colleges, and high schools – and the educators and students from these institutions.

The Educator Community Manager will design programs and drive initiatives to increase engagement and adoption among higher education and K-12 faculty around the globe. To do this, you will need to be a strong owner, working closely with our core customer set for the product: post-secondary and K-12 faculty and leaders. Additionally, you will work across internal teams like marketing, product, and research to define faculty engagement initiatives and execute against them. Ultimately, your efforts will increase faculty engagement and continue to accelerate cloud-related learning endeavors.

This role requires a leader who can be inventive and fearless while balancing operational excellence and program success. Ownership will include customer engagement with a focus on cultivating a community consisting of multi-disciplinary higher education faculty. The Educator Community Manager will have an opportunity to impact the way AWS engages with the educational community by helping more educators adopt cloud computing concepts in the classroom.

A successful Educator Community Manager will innovate, move quickly, and bring new ideas informed by your experience in education to the team. This individual should be steeped in AWS and/or cloud computing, technically strong, and have significant experience with technical subject matter.

Some of the key job functions:
  • Drive faculty usage and adoption of AWS content in the classroom.
  • Manage and engage AWS Educate’s global online faculty community.
  • Regularly collect information about needs of faculty to support the successful adoption and implementation of AWS in the classroom.
  • Create new benefits and bolster existing ones, to better the faculty experience.
  • Define new initiatives for faculty and bring them to fruition.
  • Work jointly with product, content and marketing teams, to influence faculty to build and prioritize cloud curriculum development and implementation.
  • Ability to confidently present in settings of up to 100 or more individuals.
  • Be the voice of the customer, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of our content efforts and help our team iterate and improve on our content offering.
  • Travel up to 30%, domestic and globally, and sometimes on short notice.
