The AWS Internet of Things (IoT) Ubiquitous Computing program is a strategic initiative in Amazon aiming to accelerate realization of this vision by building IoT ecosystems and compute/machine learning @edge frameworks touching a wide array of use cases such as smart homes, wearables, medical devices, automobile, industrial automation and more. In this role, you will work closely with teams designing and building systems realizing this vision. We are looking for a developer to drive our front end story - primarily building the web front end to drastically improve user experience and speed up Greengrass adoptions.

You will need to have exceptional customer focus and ability to work with UX designers and product management to flesh out detailed UI design. You will need to deliver solid, secure, performant front end code, contribute to the design of backend APIs and also need to be comfortable diving into IoT, networking and identity/access technologies to accurately understand and influence experiences are hoping to light up.



Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field

  • 4+ years of experience building web front end using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, associated frameworks like AngularJS

  • Experience with services using Java, Spring framework or similar

  • Strong CS fundamentals in software design including algorithms, data structures and the ability to dive deep into areas like IoT, networking, identity/access

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud and web services technologies (esp. JSON, REST, XML, MQTT, pub/sub, etc.).
  • Experience in building applications backed by native AWS services
