Job Description

The Amazon Devices team is looking for a passionate, insightful, and results-oriented business intelligence professional who wants to build and create the data and metrics framework that will power our emerging direct (offline) retail channel team in the US. This role is a critical part of the team that is launching the latest devices into the market and ensuring that our customers get to experience our full range of products first hand before they buy.

We currently operate 300-500 square foot retail stores in major shopping malls in the US, where customers are invited to test drive the best-selling Amazon devices such as the Amazon Echo, Kindle e-reader, Fire tablet, and Fire TV product lines.
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for collecting large sets of data, building metrics and business cases to support decision-making. The successful candidate will be an analytically driven team player, with an excellent attention to detail and a keen business sense who wants to explore customer experience and operational improvement opportunities across the business.
As a business analyst, you will be responsible for measuring the success of our programs, and designing new and better ways to identify how we can make our teams more successful. Your input will be leveraged to make sure that all of our programs and initiatives are designed with data analysis and measurement outputs from the start. You will also work with other Amazon offline retail teams, understand their best practices.

This job requires a strong sense of ownership and ability to deal with ambiguity.
Responsibilities include:
· Provide data driven insights and actionable recommendations to key stakeholders (operations, marketing, product management, program management) and understand and meet their analytics needs on a continual basis.
· Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and partner with internal team members to identify process and system improvement opportunities and develop key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall operational and financial performance.
· Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights and present written business recommendations to the leadership in a clear and compelling way.
· Identify data quality and process improvement opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field
· 6+ years of professional experience in analytics, business analysis or comparable consumer analytics position
· 5+ years of project management experience
· Experience data mining using SQL, ETL, data warehouse as well as Excel

Preferred Qualifications

· Relevant professional experience in an analytically oriented, data, or quantitative role e.g., business metrics reporting, finance, consulting, or marketing research
· Data Visualization through Tableau
· Experience problem solving
· Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases and complete root cause analyses
· Understanding of data warehousing, data modeling concept and building new DW tables
· Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills
· Experience dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast paced environment
