Job Description

Amazon Benchmarking is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a Computer Vision and Robotics team in designing tools that measure the customer experience and performance of Amazon products around the world. This is cutting edge technology and an opportunity to exercise your creativity; exploring unconventional ideas to simulate and quantify any aspect of the customer experience.

Joining a small team of scrappy hardware, software, and data engineers, you will direct efforts to leverage computer vision algorithms, robotics, TCP traffic analysis, and quantitative analysis to challenge conventional wisdom with hard data. Our ideal candidate loves building software, is creative and fearless, knows how to get things done, and is not afraid to take on big challenges.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
· 5+ years professional experience in software development people management
· 7+ years of industry experience
· A passion for people management and mentorship
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Well versed in industry platforms such as Web, Mobile, SOA
· Demonstrated technical leadership of both people and projects
· Superior analytical and problem solving skills. You love data.
· A strong intellectual curiosity to continually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving business and market needs

Preferred Qualifications

· Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
· Experience in powering robotics via the software you have built
· Hands-on experience in hardware - CPUs, breadboards, robotics
· Knowledge of Computer Vision fundamentals and algorithms
