Job Description

In this role, you would be the business driver of 1P Echo device personalization through machine learning on Amazon.com. To be successful, you must be analytical and customer obsessed. You will use these skills to device the business case and requirements for our machine learning and website platform investments by assigning unit value and prioritization to our asks.

The Echo device business is growing and we need a principle product manager to drive automation and hyper-segmentation of our placements on Amazon.com home page. Our growth requires leaders who move fast, have an entrepreneurial spirit to create new products, unrelenting tenacity to get things done, and are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems.

The Echo Device Sales team is looking for a principle product manager who will own our machine learning and customer targeting technical roadmap. You will work with a dedicated machine learning tech team to set the business requirements and drive model development and develop a content rendering service that can deliver thousands of messages to customers on Amazon.com. As a first step, the person in this role will be responsible for enabling smart and hyper-segmentation of advertising in one of Amazon’s most impactful pages – the home page.

In addition to landing our home page model, you will be responsible for the Echo sales and marketing optimziation roadmap. The person will work liaising into website and platform tech teams to drive our roadmap, backlog and feature prioritization to support product launches, unit volume, engagement, smart home and AVS initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with machine learning practices and website development with a strong ownership and deliver results focus. You will need to be able to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment, and communicate clearly and persuasively. This person is able to drive focus and excellence within the programs they own, with their business counter parts and colleagues across the Amazon organization. You will be at the center of activity and will need to lead multiple other teams through your actions and direction.

Specific deliverables include:

· Own machine learning requirements and roadmaps for AuCC placement on Amazon.com Homepage
· Own or drive technical work streams associated with selling products—website, offline retail, pricing, promotion, forecasting, etc.
· Understand and assess core platform opportunities in order to proactively determine how to best sell and drive demand in a launch strategy
· Forecast unit impact and develop the business case for our online development and optimization roadmap

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in machine learning, content management systems, and website development
  • Experience managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
  • Experience building, leading and managing teams.
  • Experience with MS Office: Word and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Deep experience with smart home products and brands
  • Experience in ecommerce, consumer electronics or technology sector
  • Experience building rendering services for thousands of creatives and customer segments
  • Entrepreneurial spirit / ability to try different things with minimal direction
  • Experience working cross-functionally across Marketing, Product Management, Machine Learning scientists and Research
  • Analytical thinker: able to drive metrics and benchmarks to ensure continuous improvement in process and results
  • Superior communication skills and clear customer focus
  • Quick decision maker - ability to demonstrate bias for action under tight timing and pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex and highly visible projects
  • Proven ability to move fast in an ambiguous environment without close supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital tools for process optimization and reporting
  • Experience thinking strategically and execute methodically
