Self Service Performance Advertising provides the platform for some of Amazon's fastest growing strategic businesses, such as Sponsored Products and Headline Search Ads. Our global advertising platform provides self-service low-latency systems for multiple performance-based advertising programs with large ad inventories. It supports both automated and advertiser-specified optimization controls and features particular integrations for using product data from across the entire Amazon catalog as a source of ad content. Our products are strategically important to our Retail and Marketplace businesses driving long term growth, and as such our organization's initiatives are highly visible to Amazon's executive leadership. We are growing at an unprecedented rate with a seemingly endless range of new opportunities, and have been a broad mandate to aggressively experiment and innovate.
Our API team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to participate in the full development life-cycle of our public API and feed ingestion systems that help advertisers easily create, manage and optimize advertising campaigns through programmatic and file-based interfaces.
You will work closely with peer engineers and upstream advertising platform teams to expose internal system capabilities to the outside world in a fashion that accommodates extreme load and low-latency requirements. You'll work on the design and implementation of all aspects of the API service, and will influence and even re-architect upstream platform services to operate at significantly larger scale than originally anticipated. You’ll have a direct impact on your customers by enabling external parties to advertise on Amazon using the full spectrum of platform features, enabling them to advertise their brands and products, increase sales, and improve the Amazon shopper experience.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about quality, consistency, maintainability, performance, security and all the other things that make great software great. You will own the design and implementation of major deliverables end-to-end. This position requires collaboration with product managers, technical program managers and partner teams, necessitating a comfort-level with ambiguity and a desire to create, iterate and improve.
