Job Description

The Programmer/Analyst position on the Training & Certification team at Amazon Web Services is responsible for building the tools required to publish and maintain technical training in a rapid, agile fashion. You will work with our Technical Architects and business stakeholders to design and implement code that supports tasks such as push-button publishing for hundreds of training courses in multiple languages; automated and continuous testing of lab environments and customer-facing code samples; and design of internal Web applications that replace manually maintained spreadsheets with automated workflows.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong programming experience in one or more compiled or scripting languages, such as C#, Python, Java, or Ruby
  • Knowledge of DevOps CI/CD workflows
  • Experience with n-tier Web-based applications and REST-style protocols
  • Experience working with HTTP protocol and wire protocol debugging (using Fiddler2, WireShark, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more major development environments or tools, such as Visual Studio, PyCharm, or Eclipse
  • Experience with an agile development process, such as Scrum or Kanban
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a similar degree, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Python programming skills (knowledge of Django a plus)
  • Prior experience with Jenkins and similar build automation infrastructures
  • Previous on the job experience with AWS, particularly AWS Lambda and DynamoDB
Location can be Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA
