Managing and building the world’s biggest Movie and TV catalog, for both on-demand and Linear TV including live, is our opportunity. This new leader will manage the World Wide Amazon Video Catalog System, which includes leading teams that operate discreet functions such as asset storage & management, title assembly, content lifecycle processing, metadata management, multiple asset edits/cuts and versions, a program around continuously localizing all aspects of a title such as metadata, subtitles and audio files, and the operations of evolving and maintaining a highly flexible and extensible data store which can persist millions of objects including highly complex object relationships at scale. In addition to these functions, this role will be responsible for building highly scalable tier-1 systems with near real-time capability to process thousands of various different types of content via automation to meet on-time-publishing goals. Content quality, operational efficiency, timeliness, and increasing selection are key measures that drive the success of this program over the long run. Finally, designing and operating durable platform components servicing multiple business functions, features, and products, are necessary skills to succeed in this role.
The candidate must have large-scale, proven engineering expertise where s/he played a leading role in both setting product and technical strategy ideally for supply chain systems, and in owning day-to-day technical operations for a consumer service that was used by millions of customers.
