Job Description

We’re building the tools to enable our fast-moving businesses to make use of workforce data at high transaction rates and with low latency. We are looking for a statistician to help us with in-depth people data analyses to support strategic and tactical decision-making.

Amazon people Technologies team is looking for a passionate self-starter who loves the challenge of solving problems by working directly with Product Managers and Data Engineering teams to build tools and reporting dashboards that deepen our collective understanding of our customers, influence innovation, and deliver actionable insights.

The ideal candidate has outstanding business acumen, a restlessness to answer “why?” questions in order to get to “so what?” conclusions, a proven ability to define their own roadmap, an ability to set clear expectations with key stakeholders, excellent analytical abilities, strong technical skills (SQL), superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ years in software product management is required
· 5+ years in Business Intelligence/Analytics/Machine Learning
· Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or related discipline.
· Experience in bringing technology products to market in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent quantitative skills. Strong SQL and Excel expertise to access and transform data into insights.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Have a business analyst background; Experience as a business analyst, creating reports and metrics
· Experience in using databases in a business environment with large-scale data sets
· Experience with data visualization software (like Tableau)

Preferred Qualifications

·MBA or Master’s Degree in an analytical field is desired.
·Experience with statistical modeling, data-mining and machine learning (R, Python, SAS, etc.).
