Amazon Web Service (AWS) is the world’s leading cloud computing provider. The AWS Localization team is responsible for making AWS resources accessible to anyone who needs them in their language and adapted for their culture. The team vision is to push the traditional localization boundaries and solve localization challenges by adopting engineering solutions. We focus on automate the localization process in order to scale and provide meaning metrics in order to further improve localization operations.

AWS Localization in Seattle, is looking for a Programmer/Analyst III (PA III) with an international mindset, to help us develop new technical approaches to solve new and old localization challenges. We need someone who can:


  • Work with the AWS Localization team and our upstream engineering teams to find creative engineering solutions to solve localization challenges.

  • Build and deploy solutions per spec, participate in design, and/or work with upstream teams to integrate the solutions with their systems

  • Support and operate internal workflow automation tools.

  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with smart, motivated people - who also like to have fun!

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of software or tools development experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficiency in one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, or Java
  • Experience with design and coding skills creating web services and web applications.
  • Knowledge of database structure.
  • Experience in XML, HTML, scripting languages, and CSS
  • Experience with Linux/Unix

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have built at least one large-scale web application from the ground up
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (desired)
  • Good understanding with globalization design and/or localization processes but not a must
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture, API construction & use, etc. (preferred)
