Job Description

Amazon Web Services ("AWS") enables customers of all sizes to run their applications on Amazon's industry-leading cloud computing infrastructure. As we continue to grow our business, we are constantly looking for ways to help serve our customers with innovative offerings that fundamentally change the way people build, deploy, and manage AWS cloud applications.

We are looking for a Product Manager to join the Amazon Route 53 team. Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) service offered by Amazon Web Services. As an Amazon Web Service, we believe in simple, reliable, and low cost systems that serve our customers' needs. Amazon Route 53 is an AWS business with globally distributed servers and customers, low latency and high throughput.

We are now embarking on adding the next wave of functionality for a service that is core to all modern Internet businesses. We are seeking a product manager with experience in distributed systems and a focus on engineering and operational excellence to help us grow and operate a large-scale, global DNS business. The right person will have strong experience from defining and delivering on broad product roadmaps to championing solutions focused on customer needs.

Responsibilities will include feature development and prioritization of product functionality, ownership of the business model, customer segmentation, pricing, and demand generation.. As a member of the team, you will work with management and engineering leaders to set strategy, define the product, and make the hard, high-judgment trade-offs between features and time-to-market. Managing the timelines for all associated software and services, supporting the launch of new releases and being involved with marketing the product and regular communication with senior management on status, risks, etc. are key elements of this position. As a Product Manager, you will be equally comfortable with digging into business requirements with customers as drilling into customer experience, architecture and design with the development teams.

The ideal candidate will clearly be passionate about the large opportunity that Amazon Web Services presents, with a track record of success in delivering products and services to the developer or enterprise segments.

This product manager has thrived and succeeded in delivering broadly adopted technology products/services in a very high growth environment where priorities shift quickly. He or she is a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team. The Amazon Web Services business requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer and quality focus. This leader will have a strong track record of achieving that balance.

This position will be located in Seattle, WA or Vancouver, BC depending on candidate preference.
