We have developed products that leverage Amazon’s strength as a world class e-commerce platform and have integrated advertising into the shopping experience from first discovery to purchase.

The future of our business is compelling and we are focused on building a robust, innovative business enabling advertisers of all sizes. Our products range from e-commerce ads that integrate the power of familiar shopping features to visually stunning Kindle screensavers. We can reach customers on Amazon properties, both web and mobile, and across our ad platform.

A strategic part of our charter is to build a portfolio of self-service, cost-per-click advertising programs to enable both large and small advertisers to engage with customers in relevant ways. Examples of products already in the market are Sponsored Products and Amazon Marketing Services (AMS). We are building a new team who will own go to market strategy, adoption, advertiser success for Self-Service Performance Advertising programs. This team will have functional expertise in marketing, product, account management, market analysis, and program management.

We are looking for a data-driven, results focused Program Manager to devise strategies for advertiser success on Amazon. As a Program Manager, you will work cross-functionally with marketing, product, technology, data engineering, and operations teams, to define advertiser success given the breadth and depth of ad products and the foundational retail businesses that provide the platform for our advertising business. You will work to define a strategy to grow advertisers into this defined success path, instrumenting strategies with product, marketing, and advertiser-facing teams. There is an opportunity to positively influence the lives of advertisers and millions of customers, via data driven strategies that could accelerate the Amazon ad business.

The ideal candidate is comfortable defining strategies in an ambiguous environment, working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-changing and rapidly growing business. You will need to write and present documents with data driven recommendations to influence leadership. You must be equally comfortable pulling, mining, and analyzing data as you are working with marketing and technology teams. As a Program Manager, a significant portion of your role will be influencing the team’s and partner teams’ roadmaps based on data driven recommendations and well-written documents.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Define and drive development of one-to-one and one-to-many activities to help onboard recently launched advertisers to help them meet their advertising goals.
  • Identify key metrics to demonstrate the impact of advertising campaigns.
  • Enable advertisers with data that drives smart decisions including recommendations and campaign analytics. Provide advertisers smart and easy to understand reports to drive increased budget and investment.
  • Partner with the product marketing and technology teams to develop mechanisms to convey product requirements.
  • Identify, define, and implement programs to grow our advertiser base to exceed annual active advertiser and retention goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree with proficiency in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science or equivalent degree with quantitative bias.
  • Product or program management experience.
  • Experience working with databases using SQL to write queries and perform analysis, involving large data sets.
  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations.
  • Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related area.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated by experience.
  • Proven ability to dive deep and identify root cause gaps and drive solutions that improve customer experience and drive business results.
  • Proven ability to be a big picture thinker and drive a roadmap towards a business goal with creative problem solving skills.
  • Previous advertising experience, retail experience, and/or experience working with technology teams.
  • Passion for e-commerce and/or digital marketing and a track record of delivering outstanding results.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for having fun.
