The Senior Finance Manager in AWS Infrastructure Finance will work closely with the Data Center Capacity Planning (DCCP) team and the Service Owner (demand side) to ensure that we have clear financial line of sight on demand and supply decisions, driving strategic decisions with data and clearly outlining risks and opportunities.
He/she will also be responsible for several key planning processes such as Occupancy tracking, HC tracking, Monthly DC build plan, DC build cost analytics. This person will be main point of contact with the DCCP (DC Capacity Plan) team as well as consolidate and provide a central source of data to DC Capex finance team and Energy finance team as needed.
The successful candidate will help drive financial transparency and work with the Data Center Capacity Planning team to facilitate growth of the business by providing financial stewardship and analytical insights.
Key Strategic Objectives
The successful hire will work across the AWS organization and AWS finance to drive better financial alignment of demand and DC supply decisions by building and leveraging relationships across the teams, developing capabilities to cost builds on an ad hoc basis with short turnarounds as part of the bi-weekly Rack Fcst meetings, support the weekly/monthly cadence of DC capacity planning including financial decisions. The successful candidate will also be responsible to provide structured data for DC Capex, HC forecasting, DC build plans across time periods that will be analyzed by the DC Capex finance team to make informed decisions on costs and opportunities and Energy finance team as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering or other quantitative field
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Experience working as business finance partner to provide strategic guidance and decision support in rapidly evolving environment
  • Executive presence and ability to drive outcomes while working with multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master of Finance and advanced speaking and written communication skills
  • Proven process development, improvement, and project management ability that demonstrates organizational and problem solving skills that lead to a successful conclusion
  • Independent and entrepreneurial showing the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Internal and external customer focus and a work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
  • Exceptional business judgment capable of driving a diverse organization to the right results with a focused, pragmatic approach
