Job Description

The Amazon Media Group (AMG) operates at the intersection of Advertising and eCommerce and offers advertisers a rich array of innovative advertising solutions across Amazon’s mobile and desktop websites, proprietary devices and the Amazon Advertising Platform. We believe that advertising, when done well, can enhance the value of the customer experience and generate a positive return on investment for our advertising partners.

Managers of Client Services are account or vertical team leaders, managing team members responsible for account management, end-to-end campaign management and account-level data analysis. Internally, this role partners across a number of teams including sales, retail, product, creative, and shopper marketing. Externally, the MCS role ensures strategy alignment with advertisers and serves as the single-threaded owner for the service model AMG provides.

In this position, you will work with sales and your account team(s) to help to drive overall upfront planning for your account(s), and you will manage a portfolio view of brand and media strategies for clients. You will ensure team members find opportunities for your account(s) to participate in new initiatives or products, and you will guide the team to provide flawless campaign execution and experiences. You will also serve as a liaison with other teams by participating in vertical team meetings, sharing best practices across other managers, and participating in sales meetings. As the leader of your team, you will work holistically to drive return on investment, ease of doing business, and advertiser satisfaction for your account(s). You will have direct accountability for continuously improving customer satisfaction and delivering strong results against revenue and operational excellence metrics - including upsells and renewals.

As the main team leader, you will be expected to mentor and develop team members to ensure they have the ability to pursue individualized career goals and development, and you must demonstrate behavior that exemplifies the Amazon leadership principles.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ year experience in people management
  • 2+ year experience in client-facing role with a strong focus on data analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in marketing, advertising or business preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Economics, Marketing, Advertising, or Business; MBA is a plus
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Strong negotiating skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to navigate data and leverage analytics to make decisions
  • Understanding of digital creative production, ad serving, cross-channel attribution, and media math
  • Ability to establish effective cross team and cross functional partnerships to drive cross-team initiatives
  • Adept at solving problems that span business and technology
  • Proven record of attracting, retaining and growing exceptional account management and customer service professionals
