Job Description

The Strategic Recruiting Team at Amazon is part of the executive recruiting organization and takes a proactive, high-touch approach to building strong talent networks in critical talent groups of long-term value and importance to Amazon. Our team has developed a scalable global framework and set of processes for acquiring senior level talent in these areas that can be reapplied to new domain areas as Amazon’s talent demand evolves. One of the critical talent groups this team specializes in is user experience / user interface design professionals.

The long-term goal of the SRT’s Market Intelligence team is to launch “Cerebro,” a global relational database platform that incorporates online data, market mapping, relationship graphs, organization chart 243 visualization, geographic talent heat maps, primary research (e.g. talent studies and quality of hire metrics) and secondary research (e.g. interview and phone screen data) to help inform business decisions, such as targeted recruiting outreach, branding/PR opportunities, new location expansion, potential acquisitions, etc. Cerebro would be open to anyone in the business and HR with role-specific access to sensitive/confidential information. This would also solve for the ongoing challenge of multiple Amazon contacts reaching out to niche talent that is particularly sensitive to broad outreach. We plan to test Cerebro as an AWS-based service to inform a go/no go decision on replacing a current system that is not visible to industry recruiting teams or business partners. Self-service talent market analytics and visibility into our pipelines will remove churn and confusion from our relationship-building processes.

Basic Qualifications

· 10+ years of engineering experience
· Track record of building scalable and user-friendly relational databases
· Superb verbal and written communication skills; a compelling communicator able to engage the attention of busy, senior executives; able to convey complex arguments and engage with senior level executives in a polished and professional manner
· Combine tenacity with tact; know when to apply more pressure and when to give in
· Inquisitive; a strong desire to learn
· Ability to work cross-functionally with a number of internal constituents, academics and world-class subject matter experts
· Bachelor’s degree required. Additional work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications

- Deep knowledge of engineering services
- Graduate degree preferred.
