Amazon is seeking a Finance leader to support our Strategic Business Development organization. Strategic Business Development (SBD) is a centralized team that leads many of Amazon’s most complex and high impact 3rd-party partnership opportunities, and also owns building Amazon Registry Services (ARS), a start-up innovating in the Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) space.
This high visibility role is responsible for providing financial leadership and management in evaluating a wide range of strategic alliances and commercial partnerships across Amazon’s many business units and presenting findings to senior executives. This includes support for Amazon’s Mobile Business Development team, which is responsible for negotiating and executing commercial partnerships with mobile carriers and device OEMs to distribute Amazon’s suite of mobile apps on a global basis. The position is also responsible for overall financial management of the ARS business. This role will manage an existing small team of finance professionals, and be responsible for scaling the team as the ARS business and pipeline of Strategic and Mobile BD deals grow.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Partner with Strategic and Mobile Business Development teams to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage external partnerships that may involve marketing, content, commerce, and technology components.
- Lead the effort to evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of potential partnerships.
- Lead development of best practices to track ongoing measurement of executed partnerships.
- Lead design and development of core finance functions for the Amazon Registry Services business, including forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
