Job Description

Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join its direct tax reporting team. This specific role will focus exclusively on Amazon’s worldwide income tax provision and related SEC reporting requirements. The Amazon tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment.


• Management of a core team within Amazon’s income tax provision group
• Review components of Amazon’s quarterly and annual worldwide tax provision
• Assist in the preparation and review of the monthly tax provision journal entries
• Prepare and review tax provision analytics and communicate results to tax management, finance partners, and external auditors
• Research and monitor issues and changes in accounting for income taxes
• Partner with team members to operationalize complex ASC 740 technical concepts into the global tax provision process and determine process improvements where necessary
• Drive tax technical development program for Amazon’s income tax provision team

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years multinational corporate tax experience
• BA/BS in accounting or equivalent
• ASC 740 accounting for income taxes knowledge and experience required
• Knowledge of federal income taxation of domestic and international transactions
• Multistate and Foreign tax experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA and MST or equivalent preferred
• Big 4 and/or combination with technology industry experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and with external auditors
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate in a fast paced, changing environment
• Strong organization skills, able to multitask and meet deadlines
