SDEs at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. At Amazon an SDEs can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming. Coming to Amazon gives you the opportunity to work on a small development team in one of our many organizations; Amazon Web Services, ecommerce Services, Kindle, Marketplace, Operations, Platform Technologies and Retail.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 4+ years experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development
  • 3+ years of experience in Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • 3+ years of experience in at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or PER

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building production software
  • A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
  • Deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture
  • Mastery of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C) and open-source technologies
  • Development experience writing application for a mobile platform (Android, iOS, etc.)
  • Experience providing high-performing, developer-centric tools and frameworks
  • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
