Job Description

Amazon is seeking an Income Tax Analyst or Senior Tax Analyst to focus on Mexico income tax reporting and compliance. This position will be primarily responsible to support the income tax Manager for Mexico tax reporting (non-US direct tax returns & tax accounting) as well as the international aspects of the US GAAP worldwide income tax provision. Additionally we would expect the successful candidate to support the US and international tax controversy teams on audits and the international tax team on the compliance and reporting aspects of projects (including M&A and integration). This position will be based in Mexico City.

Primary job duties include:
· Support the Tax Manager to prepare income tax monthly and annual filings
· Support the Tax Reporting team to building Local GAAP tax provision process
· Supporting the Transfer Pricing team on the international compliance aspects of Transfer Pricing
· Responsible for non-US income tax accounting under US GAAP and local GAAP
· Review tax planning ideas to determine impacts to worldwide tax provision
· Analyze effects of various international transactions
· Support international tax compliance and reporting aspects of mergers and acquisitions (due diligence and integration)
· Support Income Tax Manager and International tax controversy teams on tax audits
· Drive process improvements and coordinate with Tax Technology Team to facilitate streamlining and automation of recurring calculations

Basic Qualifications


· 5+ years of direct tax experience
· University Degree in Accounting / Taxation or equivalent
· Significant knowledge of taxation laws
· Experience with accounting for income taxes under US GAAP, IFRS, or similar accounting rules

Preferred Qualifications


· Certified Public Accountant
· Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
· Strong project management skills
· Strong tax operational background and ability to drive process improvements
· Knowledge of international tax aspects
· Experience with Oracle Financial Applications helpful
· Fluency in English
