Job Description

The Kindle Content Technology team is looking for strong technical leaders to drive multiple strategic initiatives delivering cutting edge software and services to realize our vision of making “every book, ever written available on all Kindle devices and apps.”

You will have the opportunity to deliver some of the most complex, high impact and high visibility features in Kindle as you roll out technical and business solutions for readers, authors and publishers as fast as you possibly can.

This role requires working with business owners and product managers to define strategy, requirements and timelines as well as lead cross functional development teams through design, delivery, management and support.

This position involves regular communication with senior management on roadmaps, progress, risks and change control. Technical design skills, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable digging into business requirements and product planning as well as drilling into technical architecture and design.
This opportunity requires excellent technical, problem-solving and communication skills. The candidate is not just a policy maker/spokesperson but drives to get things done. At the core of the position is planning and delivery. Ideal candidates have extensive experience with product build and delivery plans, defining and assembling program v-teams and writing detailed functional and test specifications to meet product needs. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent)
  • 4+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry
  • Experience with agile development and service release cadence and scheduling
  • A first-hand working knowledge of current web technologies including UI and Services, service-oriented architecture and data analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a developer as part of the 6+ years Technical industry experience.
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
  • Creativity with superior analytical abilities across business and technology
  • Extensive experience defining programs, writing detailed functional specifications and delivering projects that meet rapidly evolving business needs
