Job Description

We are seeking a talented and entrepreneurial Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) for a new Consumables initiative, Prime Samples. This is a ground-floor opportunity to play a key role in developing another exciting initiative at Amazon.

Simply put - Our vision is to make samples available to Prime members in every relevant category across Amazon. In a similar way that customer reviews have empowered customers to make unbiased, informed decisions; broad availability of samples can transform the way customers shop by allowing them to try all the different flavors, brands, and variations in a category, effectively for free, before they determine which product is best for them. We want Amazon to become synonymous with effectively free, risk-free trial.
We are building a global service that helps customers discover new products, provides vendors high value channels to drive awareness and trial, and drives repeat customer spend on Amazon. We foresee this service infrastructure enabling additional value like customer lifecycle engagement, influencer marketing, audience insights and market research. Our goal is to facilitate the discovery and fulfillment of billions of samples to Amazon customers each year and be one of the top reasons why vendors disproportionately choose to partner with Amazon on CPG product marketing.
The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical solution architect with proven experience designing new processes and delivering large-scale projects. This role requires hands-on project management skills, deep technical expertise, and excellent leadership skills. You will work closely with PMs on business requirements, translating systems/technical requirements with internal and external customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. We have a dedicated software development team that you will indirectly lead and be responsible for setting project standards and expectations, while delivering large, cross functional projects.

Beyond the immediate sampling team (PM and software development), this role interacts closely with retail systems (search, detail page, promotions, pricing, supply chain, fulfillment ops) and business partners (Retail, 3P seller, WW Ops) across Amazon, and is pivotal to the growth of this strategic initiative. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize in a changing business environment will also be key. Our team culture is customer-obsessed, goal-oriented, collaborative and results driven - while having fun along the way. We are seeking an individual who is motivated by this fast-paced and highly entrepreneurial environment.

This is a unique opportunity to work in the world of bits (website, app, software) and atoms (fulfillment, operations, delivery). If you are excited about developing software that will touch many parts of the Amazon and be used by millions of customers, join us!
