Through our entrepreneurial culture, Amazon has developed new technologies and products (like Echo) and, enterprise services (like Amazon Web Services). Amazon is now reinventing on behalf of the business customer and focused on building the largest and most innovative Business-to-Business (B2B) business in the world, and we are recruiting to make this vision a reality.

B2B represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base and is an area of high interest for Amazon. We are focused on building solutions that enable B2B customers to find, research, and buy products and services from a vast selection, across multiple devices, marketplaces and regions. Our customers include individual professionals, small businesses to large institutions (and everything in between). Our B2B customers have different needs than the traditional Amazon customer so we are reinventing everything from how we display our selection, price our products, and provide the right customer experience.

The role

Amazon is seeking a driven, strategic, and customer-centric Product Management leader to create strategy and product solutions for a defined set of vertical segments. You will work closely with customers, vertical segment leaders, sales and support to deeply understand the needs of customers in these segments, and use that information to develop multi-year roadmaps that will lead to success for customers using our services, and growth for our business.

You will be part of a technology team with capabilities to develop specific capabilities for these vertical market needs. When your team cannot build these capabilities, you will work advocate on behalf of our customers and partner with other teams within Amazon to create solutions.

As a senior leader on the Amazon Business Verticals team you will have a high impact opportunity to serve the needs of business buyers, you will interact with the senior management team within Amazon business and across Amazon. This is a chance to think big!

The right product manager will be a proven team leader and builder with energy and deep competencies to envision the right experience for customers, drive execution, and scale the solution to match the business growth opportunity. You will lead by example, being just as passionate about operational performance, security, and predictability as you are about innovation and delightful customer experience. You will not have the luxury of having tunnel-vision for any one area; rather, you will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize and strike the right balance for driving adoption among existing customers and acquiring new customers fast. Equally, you will achieve the right balance among competing priorities for new features, architectural improvements, and operational excellence.


· Own the long-term vision, strategy and roadmap for your solution portfolio built from a deep understanding of the needs of the customers in your vertical segment(s)
· Maintain a deep competitive awareness and think big to identify global business opportunities worthy of investment.

· Lead business analysis and experimentation strategy, capturing insights that inform the long-term strategy and roadmap for your solution
· Lead and influence business and technology stakeholders and leaders across the organization to drive strategic initiatives.
· Lead business planning, determine the goals and objectives of your team and the broader organization.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, design or related field is required
· Professional experience in product management and/or marketing with approximately 5+ years’ experience
· Proficiency with Excel or Access required
· Approximately 2+ years’ experience in a people management role

Travel required 25%

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities in an ever changing environment
· Proven track record of delivering results in large, cross-functional initiatives
· Superior analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success
· Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems independently with an extreme attention to detail
· Strong strategic aptitude; proven ability to define a winning business strategy and product roadmap and gain buy-in from stakeholders at all levels
· Demonstrated ability to successfully influence stakeholders without formal authority, leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
· Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly products and customer-facing features
· Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members
· Strong bias for action; ability to create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
· Strong written and verbal communication and persuasion skills
· Experience operating in a global environment
· MBA preferred
· Experience in B2B sales, especially in the development of solutions in the procurement industry (source to settle)
· Experience operating in the procurement ecosystem serving healthcare, government or other highly regulated industries.
