Job Description

Amazon's North American Retail Expansion (NARX) Tech Team is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager responsible for driving the design, development, and launch of key initiatives, for Amazon’s Canada and Mexico retail businesses. The ideal candidate is a customer obsessed, creative, demonstrated technical leader and hands-on contributor with superior analytical abilities. This opportunity requires excellent problem solving, communication, cross-organizational leadership skills. At the core of the position is delivering great experiences for our customers in Canada and Mexico.
As a Senior TPM, you will be responsible for leading your programs by driving strategy and engaging with launch partners to deliver on large software projects end-to-end. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. This position also involves regular communication with senior management, cross-organizational leadership and influence, and complex project management.


Qualified candidates have extensive experience defining projects and programs, collecting requirements, leading the development of detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets; as well as analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection and communicating results throughout the organization. They must also have a demonstrated ability to build, lead, coach, and mentor high performing, cross-functional teams. Finally, qualified candidates must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience building processes, project management, and release schedules
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in internet-related technical program and/or technical product management in a software development environment
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with agile or other program management methodologies
  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or business
  • Prior experience as a software developer
  • Prior experience with designing customer facing experiences
