Job Description

Amazon and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are multi-billion dollar businesses that continue to deliver double digit growth rates. Our team’s efforts, the Tactical Planning, Operations, Program Management, and Supply Chain Analytics & Automation (TOPS) team, directly impacts the sustainability of Amazon’s and AWS’ rapid growth as well as the competitiveness of AWS’ offerings in the marketplace. The TOPS team is part of AWS’ Infrastructure Supply Chain and Procurement (ISCaP) organization. ISCaP is responsible for managing the worldwide supply chain and cost for server hardware as well as the associated network equipment needed in data centers to run the services AWS offers to our customers.

More specifically, TOPS is responsible for executing weekly demand planning of key data center assets, facilitating operational processes to enable the spend needed to build and operate AWS’ datacenters, leading initiatives to drive improvement in business processes to facilitate continued robust growth in AWS’ business, and building enhanced analytical toolsets.

In your role as part of the TOPS team, you will be creating and supporting CARs (Capital Approval Requisitions), validating supplier quotes, facilitating weekly demand planning sessions, program managing fiduciary controls governing AWS’ infrastructure procurement spend, proactively analyzing metrics to identify and drive improvement efforts in procurement processes, and providing general support as needed by our customers and internal team members. As part of your role and responsibilities, you will be interacting with our team’s customers and responsible for coordinating efforts across stakeholders to successfully complete projects and resolve issues when they arise. Given the rapid growth of AWS, you will also be responsible to create and/or keep relevant process documents updated. Tasks that are operational often have productivity and quality targets defined, for which you will be responsible. The key areas that your role will be responsible for delivering results are fiduciary controls, tactical supply chain planning, and supply chain analytics & automation.
