Job Description

Amazon Video has developed a world class video distribution platform. And now that platform is growing even more with live, linear and special events which enable customers to watch what the want and get even one step closer to cutting the cord.
You would be working on building out new platforms and supporting new products; a unique opportunity to put your stamp on something and have true ownership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and scale our current infrastructure as well as designing and delivering new tools supporting our video business.
  • Day to day Engineering and Administration of large scale distributed systems.
  • You will guide the organization and implement best practices to deliver on operational improvements.
  • Own a global hardware stack.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or other technical degree and/or related experience
  • Ability to design and implement scalable and highly available systems.
  • Prior experience with Unix or Unix like environments.
  • Knowledge of Python, Scala, or other scripting languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the streaming OTT industry.
  • H.264, HLS, Smooth Streaming, Dash encoding/decoding technologies.
  • Experience delivering live streaming events at scale
  • Flexibility: having a propensity to use the right tool for the job.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
  • Networking Knowledge and IP video delivery
  • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
  • Well-rounded technologists with experience automating with AWS tools.
  • You lead engineering best practices in your current role.
