The Role:

As a Software Quality Assurance Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop and drive a high-level strategy that delivers high quality products as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy. You will be responsible for creating world-class automation for regression and feature testing. In this role you will:

  • Understand all parts of the Amazon software ecosystem and how it works
  • Develop QA approaches that will fit the overall strategy
  • Oversee the execution of test plans and monitor the progress of testing
  • Use previous experience as a hands-on manager to build a high performing team

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of experience as a manager of high performance quality assurance teams, focused on Wireless Connectivity
  • 10 + years of industry experience, including at least 3+ years of hands-on testing or test automation and 3+ years as a quality assurance manager
  • Experience implementing and testing networking and wireless communications protocols; performing distributed systems design and testing; experience with Wi-Fi with understanding MAC and PHY layer interactions
  • Experience managing and creating test automation frameworks
  • Experience testing embedded systems and/or mobile consumer electronics devices
  • Experience implementing Quality Assurance best practices pertaining to test definition, requirements tracking, and test automation
  • Experience with black box and grey box testing methodologies, experience with standard QA and development tools, and the ability to operate within short release cycles
  • Experience and use of scripting languages like Python

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, with strong industry knowledge of testing Wireless Connectivity in mobile consumer electronics devices
  • Strong Experience with testing Wireless (WiFi) products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of working effectively with Development Engineering and other functions
  • Creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
  • Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to hire and grow talented programmatic and user-level personnel
