Job Description

Amazon is seeking an outstanding Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to uncover key insights on how consumers watch videos on Amazon. As consumers increasingly consume digital video, we need to make agile decisions based on what content appeals to our customers. As a BIE on the Prime Video Content Analytics team at Amazon, you will have the opportunity to work on one of the world's largest consumer data sets and influence the long term evolution of our analytics capability.

Key Responsibilities

You will have the following responsibilities within the scope of our global expansion:
· Support the analytical needs of the content acquisition management team (CAM) inclusive of routine reporting, ad hoc, statistical inference and predictive modeling for WorldWide licensing
· Maintain and improve on our system for gauging WorldWide content demand
· Work with central economics, machine learning, finance and other analytics team to ensure the most efficient and effective allocation of resources to tackle the WorldWide content analytics agenda
· Collaborate with CAM to develop clear business and measurement objectives
· Ensure that the quality and timeliness of analytic deliverables meet CAM expectations
· Develop and present papers with insights and recommendations at senior audiences
· Provide informal direction and guidance to more junior members of staff on all aspects of analytics from business context and prioritization to technical coaching

Basic Qualifications

- Master’s in computer science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field; or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional work experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics or Data Science
- Proven experience with SQL, Excel and SAS or R
- Business Intelligence experience working with Data Warehouse solutions and large data sets to be able to source data from various locations
- Previous experience with reporting and visualization using Tableau, Cognos cubes or other OLAP cube/data visualization and reporting package

Preferred Qualifications

- PhD in a quantitative field such as computer science, economics, finance or statistics
- Excellent verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast paced environment
- Proven ability to understand and communicate issues at multiple levels, from validating and correcting junior staff detailed work to explaining the implications of analysis results to executives
- Previous experience working in the areas of inferential statistics, machine learning and predictive modeling
