Job Description

AWS Training and Enablement is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced Global Sales Training Leader to define and develop training programs, curricula and tools which optimize the AWS sales process.
This role is responsible for ensuring all customer facing roles throughout the organization are well-equipped with the content, training, knowledge and core curriculum necessary to effectively sell AWS’s current and new service offerings while integrating our sales methodology and approach. This role will drive assimilation of the AWS sales methodology into seller sales methodology to reflect our AWS sales philosophy, and build behavior reinforcement mechanisms. The successful candidate will combine a solid understanding of sales and marketing dynamics with the ability to synthesize field requirements and corporate resources into a comprehensive training plan. This individual would be working closely with senior leadership, functional key stakeholders, Global enablement leaders, and regional enablement leads. The ideal candidate would have several years in Field Sales Training and/or Sales Enablement and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Perform detailed needs assessments in coordination with the Sales Leadership, Marketing, Services, Business Development, and Operations. Translate business needs into sales training offerings and programs which align with the AWS sales methods and approaches.
  • Function as the AWS sales methodology advocate and champion.
  • Create, develop, manage, and lead the successful execution of sales process and methodology training programs.
  • For each identified initiative, determine a content development strategy for common content objects and field-specific training materials.
  • Identify sales training, systems, processes and other opportunities to integrate the AWS sales methodology.
  • Plan and participate in Train-the-trainer training activities, including but not limited to: new hire training and on-boarding, weekly sales training, sales skills and tools training.
  • Lead vendor relationships as applicable.
  • Work with business partners, stakeholders and product teams to ensure all sales systems (CRMs, etc…) incorporate the AWS sales approach and reflect our way of working.
  • Design and implement metrics to measure training programs and impact, effectiveness, appropriateness, and utility. Measure and report on the effectiveness of sales enablement investments.
  • Review and manage the existing content library to determine opportunities to improve the learning experience, ensure the content is current and relevant and best technology is employed.

Basic Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
· Minimum 8+ years of Field Sales training or Sales Enablement experience with increasing influence and responsibility.
· Strategic thinker that can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions and measureable metrics and then execute those plans.
· Strong communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
· Partner with AWS Sales Enablement team to align global sales and technical enablement programs and curriculum with local priorities and training opportunities.
-Experience in developing and managing Sales competency models and Learning paths for sales roles. · Provide learning path requirements and establish an ongoing methodology for certification and assessment across role.
-Excellent communications skills including, presenting, editing, and writing as well as accuracy and attention to detail required.
-Proven excellent program management and project management skills.
-Proven ability to lead and manage at senior levels without direct authority
-A fast-thinking, high-energy individual with a sense of humor and ability to work with a wide range of personalities will thrive in this role
· BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
· Ability to travel approximately 20-30%
