Job Description

Amazon Kindle is looking for a talented Senior Product Manager who is responsible for supporting the Kindle Content Acquisition team to launch new global internal and external facing products and business models. The ideal candidate can work successfully in a fast paced environment, has solid business judgment and a strong technical background, experience partnering business and technical teams, and success with launching new business models, initiatives and products. This person uses metrics and analysis to guide decision-making, is able to dive deep into data and can think creatively about new opportunities.

This candidate will:
  • Have the obsession to drive a best-in-class experience for customers
  • Be methodical, analytical, objective, and goal-focused with a driving need for accuracy and attacking difficult problems.
  • Identify, assess, track and resolve issues and risks at multiple levels; including both technical risks and associated business risks.
  • Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
  • Be able to work cross-functionally with the senior leadership, US and international business teams, and software development teams
  • Enjoy solving problems and is good at crafting solutions, both strategically and tactically
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail.
  • Have success managing new project intake and ensure that all the high priority projects have enough resources internally and externally.
  • Execute selected projects on time and with high quality standards

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant business experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proven analytical thinking, leadership, problem solving, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Demonstrated success in creation and execution of new products
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior level executives
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in digital content or product management roles
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with the consumer internet industry in a professional context
  • Consulting, finance, banking or prior experience in a problem solving or analytical role preferred
  • Knowledge of or experience in publishing or other media industries a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL a plus
  • Proven skills at cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple business and technical teams
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • High comfort level with new and changing business models
  • High comfort level in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to analyze and react to competitive market trends
