Job Description

The Senior Manager, Worldwide Procurement must be a hands-on and collaborative leader, who earns respect due to deep experience, strong communication skills, ability to collaborate, and broad knowledge of capital equipment procurement management for custom engineered technical products.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for the following:
  • Establish and deploy the sourcing strategy for capital expenditure projects on a global scale, in close collaboration with the NA, EU and JP Procurement and Engineering teams.
  • Lead the execution of strategic mission, securing capacity, maximizing purchasing leverage and improving supplier performance. 

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategy to optimize costs and to ensure continuity of supply for critical equipment & services.
  • Deploy ambitious procurement savings and supplier performance improvement plans.
  • Implement relevant metrics and dashboard to drive and monitor the corresponding metrics for cost, quality, delivery and service levels.
  • Drive key negotiations related to major tenders and to meet cost reduction, capacity and product deployment goals. 

  • Develop the WW Procurement function to ensure capability to effectively manage multi billion dollar spend for large engineered and make to order capital projects.
  • Improve overall organizational capability through systems, processes and talent development. 

  • Leverage IT system solutions to enhance the access to pertinent data and to eliminate manual consolidation of information.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the procurement organization and with supply base.
  • Ensure the necessary controls, budgets, policies and procedures are in place to optimize procurement’s contribution to the business plan, effectively utilizing procurement resources. 

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Masters level or MBA preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization to achieve its goals and operate its processes against rigorous service-level agreements.
  • An independent thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments.
  • Strong bias for action
  • Demonstrated judgment and be able to recruit and groom high caliber talent.
