Job Description

The Amazon Web Services’ Productivity team is defining the next big step in a truly digital workspace and will deliver never before seen levels of productivity in this space.

We can’t talk about specifics just yet, but the things we are working on are in response to loud and clear feedback from customers about the daily pain points in the digital workplace. We’re leveraging AWS’ scale, reliability, flexibility, cost effectiveness, and ease of use, to offer customers solutions to these pain points with highly innovative technology. We’re working hard to define and build this cool service, launch it for customers as quickly as possible, get feedback and iterate.

As a highly skilled software development engineer on our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating key pieces of customer facing experiences. Our team has a very collaborative and high energy environment, located in Palo Alto.

Basic Qualifications

  • Passion for creating compelling customer experiences
  • Experience designing and shipping quality production software
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role in the industry
  • Experience designing enterprise solutions
  • Mobile development experience for Android or iOS
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment
  • A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo DB, Lambda and API Gateway

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in a technical role in the industry
  • Mentored junior software engineers
  • Built an Alexa Skill
  • Experience with C#
  • Experience with Java frameworks like Spring or Guice
  • Published a mobile app
