Job Description

Amazon seeks a Sr Financial Analyst to play a key role on our Prime Now Operation Finance team. Amazon has recently launched Prime Now World Wide, and is continuing to grow at a fast pace. This role will have heavy impact and high visibility to essential, business critical processes, and will require interactions with Directors within Operations, Finance and other support groups. This will be a delivery focused role, identifying opportunities to improve operating performance within our newly established Amazon flex workgroup across multiple programs of Retail, 3P, Restaurants, and driving technology improvements to support improved reporting and execution processes. You will partner with stakeholders such as Central Operations Planning, HR, Delivery, and various technology teams. You will leverage your education and work experience to lead initiatives to streamline planning/reporting, decide on investments, drive productivity improvement initiatives and pursue cost savings opportunities in Prime Now’s network. The role requires an individual who is willing to work in an ambiguous environment and make a big impact. The successful candidate will have a passion for providing data-based decision making. You constantly look for areas of improvement, and implement automation in order to reduce your manual work load to focus on delivering insights into the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience in positions that require analysis, reporting financial results, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of business impact and results
  • 2+ years’ experience performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools
  • 2+ years’ experience with Excel advanced functions (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
  • General understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles




Preferred Qualifications

· MBA and/or Professional certification (CPA/CMA/Qualified Accounting certificate) + relevant experience
· Management experience with demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to take on new assignments
· 1+ years of proven familiarity with concepts of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
· Advanced experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis
· Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions and demonstrated experience managing such mechanisms to an end result
· Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital
