We’re looking for an accomplished Business Development Manager in Americas Business Development team to drive growth strategies for “Named” customer segment.
As the Business Development Manager (BDM), you will have the exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of AWS within Americas and help exceed annual goals. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the sales management team of Americas along with partner teams to build go to market strategies focusing on driving revenue, adoption, and market penetration within the “Named” customer segment. You will work with the several stakeholder teams supporting Americas Sales, AWS Worldwide Partner/Channel Operations, Business Development, Marketing, and Professional Services. The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively across multiple technical and non-technical business units. The ideal candidate will possess a business development/sales background that enable the BDM to work backwards from customer’s business outcomes and develop sales and go to market approaches to help build longer term business relationships with our customers.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with the North American Partner Sales, Strategy & Operations Team Lead to define and execute the Named segment sales plan & strategic programs and initiatives.
  • Work with the field based Partner Sales Leaders & Management to support enable sales teams and AWS Partners to exceed revenue and partner ecosystem targets.
  • Manage & represent the overall partner sales business in the Named segment, including exceeding the overall sales & partner ecosystem targets for North America, managing internal communications and overall performance reporting cadence.
  • Support the evolution, integration, and implementation of sales systems/processes to meet the rapid growth of the business and its revenue attainment and market development objectives.
  • Develop and land segment specific sales & marketing efforts with strategic AWS partnerships (ISV & SI).
  • Moderate travel, approximately 20%

Basic Qualifications

· 5 years of experience in building GTM strategies, direct sales, and scaling through channel partners
· 7-10 years of relevant work experience in technology enabled consultative, solutions development, product management, product marketing, business development, and/or transformation roles.
· 5 years of experience in cloud technologies – deep understanding of public and hybrid cloud platforms.
· He/she must be a self-starter who can develop strategy and programs, but has the field level experience and credibility to execute directly with Partners, Customers and field sales.
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required

Preferred Qualifications

· Excellent business and financial acumen with ability to write narratives / white papers.
· Operational excellence mind-set and experience. Data driven. Excellent problem-solving skills. Adept at simplifying complexity and developing scalable propositions.
· Ability to multitask and manage portfolio of cross-functional programs and projects - work prioritization, planning, collaboration, and management.
· Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams.
· Relevant technical knowledge is helpful, such as: database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, software defined networking, network functions virtualization, etc. with ability to go deep enough on relevant technologies key to the industry.
· Education- an MBA is desired; technical background with Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background is highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.
· 10+ years of relevant work experience technology industry or consulting with technology industries
