Job Description

The Financial Integrations & Engineering team at Amazon Video is responsible for building and operating the set of services that process all of Amazon Video’s financial transactions, including processing payments from customers, paying our content providers, and converting business events into financial events to produce Amazon Video's General Ledger. This role’s primary focus will be implementing the automation behind new business models, compliance requirements,business expansion and financial control and process improvements.

Amazon's systems go beyond traditional big-data batch orientation approaches to streaming big data. The team is looking for a passionate, result-oriented and operationally focused Application Engineers to support the fast evolving Amazon Video financial eco-system. You will have enormous opportunity to work on multiple, complex systems, analyzing and identifying common patterns and driving the teams towards resolution to have a positive customer experience. This job requires you to hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and deliver results will define your success. The role encompasses development, testing and release to integrate financial systems for new business models, providing engineering development support, business decision making support, and issue troubleshooting and resolution.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience in Perl or equivalent programming language
  • Knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating system
  • Knowledge of Java based technologies
  • Understanding of XML/SOAP, web services, workflow modeling, web application development, and industry-standard commerce systems
  • Ability to write intermediate level SQL queries

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues
  • Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence
