Job Description

Amazon is seeking a self-motivated and well-connected senior public relations professional with good judgment to join our strategic communications team in Seattle. The ideal candidate is creative, scrappy and results-oriented, with excellent communications skills and the ability to work well with others. This individual will manage proactive and reactive media relations campaigns and influencer engagements to drive awareness of Amazon among the Hispanic community. The ideal candidate is active in this community as a recognized and respected public relations professional with a deep understanding of the U.S. Hispanic consumer, media landscape and key influencers. This individual has existing media relationships, and experience developing and leading meaningful public relations programs from start to finish.

Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage strategic public relations programs that drive awareness of Amazon among the Hispanic community
  • Build strong relationships with Hispanic media and influencers
  • Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson in Spanish-language interviews
  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges
  • Train and manage internal spokespeople at all levels for external-facing engagements
  • Deliver strategic communications counsel to Amazon executives on both short and long term challenges and opportunities
  • Help manage an external public relations agency on strategy and day-to-day matters
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams in order to drive successful launches


Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of public relations experience, with some agency experience preferred
  • Hispanic public relations experience
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Network of Hispanic media contacts and a deep understanding of what stories resonate with them
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both Spanish and English
  • Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
  • Exercises good judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes
  • Strong organization skills and outstanding attention to detail
  • Creativity and bias for action
  • Ability to successfully partner with teammates located around the world
