We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and customer-focused Business Analyst (BA) who is interested in guiding key business decisions for one of Amazon’s key business verticals, Kindle Content. We need your passion, innovative ideas, and creativity to help us continue to deliver on our ambitious goals.

The BA will be a key member of the Kindle Content Analytics team, which includes Economists, ML Data Scientists, Business Analysts and Business Intelligence Engineers. This role will report into the Global Head of Analytics for Kindle Content, and is based in Seattle, WA.

This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities, knowledge of business intelligence solutions, as well as outstanding business acumen and the ability to work with quantitative and business teams. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and driven by a desire to innovate in this space.

The BA will demonstrate high judgement and business experience, be experience in developing business reporting and collaborate with other analytics and business team members to define the optimal marketing metrics and reporting and take ownership to drive delivery. You will have a passion to dive deep, a high level of customer focus and a track record in process improvement. The analyst will have technical skills, project management skills and the ability to multi-task and thrive in an energizing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
· Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
· Partnering with other analysts and research scientists to build analytical solutions to deliver on business goals
· Propose and implement business metrics for senior management reviews and work with business intelligence and data engineers to design and develop data infrastructure to support business growth
· Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
· Perform deep-dives to find the root causes behind variances of key parameters over a given time-period

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics or other business/analytical disciplines

· 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related

· Strong proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel, and statistical analysis tools

· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate across business areas

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working with SAS, R or similar statistical packages

· Experience with reporting tools like Tableau

· Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities

· Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate with all cross functional teams (technical and business)
