Amazon’s People Tech organization is seeking a Senior Manager of User Experience to lead, among other things, the end to end design of our consumer grade application for candidate and recruiting experience. This position is a senior leadership role and you will own setting the design direction for new and existing products and services spanning multiple customer segments (including candidates, internal employees and leadership teams). You will work collaboratively with designers, product managers, marketing managers, developers, operations, domain experts, users, executives, and more to lead the design of new product experiences from concept to development and market roll out.
You will lean on your strengths as a communicator, problem framer, visionary, coach, and adaptability across design mediums and domains (digital, physical, service, environmental) to raise the bar holistically for your program’s users. Because the scope of this position extends across all creative work, the ability to balance high-level, holistic reason with detail-oriented design is imperative. You must be a critical thinker with a good design sense, have a strong technical background, and an instinct for making things simple and moving fast.
People Tech is an ever-growing, multidisciplinary group at Amazon responsible for the design of many exciting products. Here you will have the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team including designers, prototypers, user researchers, and manager, hire for new roles and grow and develop team members.
You will raise the bar for all creative and product design work including setting vision, driving divergent thinking and convergence as needed, iterating quickly at the right fidelity, bringing people and resources together, adding tools and inputs, defining design goals and ensuring that time and resources are available to achieve the goals.
In this role you will be able to work hands on or delegate and audit as appropriate and contribute to, and curate, the group’s best practices for human-centered design, prototyping, and research methodologies.
