The Amazon Gift Card business is a rapidly growing, multi-billion dollar business which significantly contributes to the company’s profitability. The Gift Card (GC) team is responsible for creating and enhancing multiple stored value products sold globally through a variety of channels, including the Amazon website, direct corporate sales, retail stores, and other partnerships. To facilitate the continued global growth of our products in the offline channel, we are looking for a Head of Global Business Development to drive expansion of our Brick & Mortar gift card business around the world.
The Head of Global Business Development will own the process for growing distribution of Amazon Gift Card products (physical gift cards, PIN on receipt and reload products like Amazon Cash) in the offline channel around the world. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including: legal, product management, tax, engineering, finance, compliance, accounting, Transaction Risk Management (fraud) and existing/new distribution partners.
Success in this position will require strong negotiation skills, excellent relationship management abilities and talent in evaluating and balancing internal and external requirements in order to bring our Amazon Gift Card products to the offline channel in new marketplaces. Core responsibilities include the following:
- Partnership Building: Sourcing deals and signing contracts with offline distribution partners for Amazon Gift Card products in new and existing marketplaces
- Strategic Planning: Driving internal thinking on expansion opportunities and prioritization to help meet our global growth objectives
- Process Improvement: Developing and driving continuous process improvement, building scalable mechanisms and contracts to ensure “Day 1” launch of Brick & Mortar Gift cards in parallel with new marketplace launches
- Internal and External Collaboration: Working with cross functional groups across Amazon and distribution partners and own partnerships from initial term sheet through contract negotiation to integration/launch
