Amazon is seeking experienced Prep Cooks that have a passion for producing high quality food in a scratch kitchen environment. Prep Cooks will assist in the daily preparation of a wide range of delicious, chef driven recipes. We’re looking for motivated, hardworking individuals who enjoy working as a team, possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and an obsessive commitment to customer safety, service, quality, and consistency. In short we need people with great attitudes who we can count on! We currently have fulltime AM and PM positions.

Role summary
  • Measure ingredients and prepare them in accordance to chef’s specifications and recipe cards
  • Prepare fresh fruits and vegetables to be used in different meals
  • Prepare various proteins according to chef’s specifications
  • Prepare salad dressings and sauces according to recipe guidelines
  • Adhere to proper food handling procedures
  • Maintain proper rotation of food to assure top quality freshness
  • Clean and sanitize the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area in order to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Carefully supervise the food temperature to ensure that the ingredients kept are at the appropriate temperature
  • Assist with cooking and packaging as needed



Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit
  • Proven reliability, demonstrated by continuous employment
  • Prep production experience for a Food Production, Restaurant or Catering company.
  • Ability to retain focus while tackling repetitive tasks
  • Work experience where attention to detail has been required in order to ensure the highest quality for customers
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time with repetitive motion

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a commissary environment
  • Understanding of HACCP protocol and implementation
  • Active Food Handler’s Permit
  • Excellent knife skills
