Job Description

Would you like to become part of the team that is redefining the way IT is delivered to U.S. National Security mission owners? Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) World Wide Public Sector (WWPS) team working with government mission owners to develop and deliver training to government customers.
Government customers are rapidly adopting Amazon Web Services as a way to build scalable and cost-effective web and IT solutions for their businesses. We are developing highly technical courses with extensive hands-on labs, e-learning courses that can be accessed 24/7, and self-paced labs that get customers deep into AWS technologies.
The NATSEC Lab Development Engineer is a key role in the AWS Public Sector Training team supporting the Federal National Security Community and has the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to design and build learning curriculum for our customers and partners in this community, as well as publish advanced technical training at the speed of AWS.
As a Lab Development Engineer, you will work hand-in-hand with our AWS Curriculum teams to design, develop, revise, and troubleshoot labs that run the gamut of AWS services. You will also utilize your deep technical skills and in-depth knowledge of AWS to ensure that the lab environments used by our students to train on AWS services are rigorously tested and continuously updated, and are structured to achieve specific, concrete learning objectives. You will also be involved in larger initiatives to gather data on ongoing lab health, so that any issues with labs can be addressed in a timely, pro-active manner.
· Design and develop new labs in conjunction with the Curriculum Development and Curriculum Engineering teams. Consult with Curriculum Developers as they write lab content to ensure consistency and quality.
· Coordinate and perform the testing of new labs prior to release.
· Coordinate testing and release cycles for labs for major events, such as AWS re:Invent.
· Troubleshoot and revise lab content as major issues are discovered, or as service and AWS console changes demand.
· Gather and collate data from instructors who are teaching classes, and from students who have taken labs, and respond proactively to lab issues and usability feedback.
· Work with the larger Curriculum Engineering team on designing and implementing systems for measuring and improving lab quality, such as health dashboards and automated continuous testing frameworks.
