Job Description

HR Risk and Compliance is recruiting for a human resources compliance specialist to join their driven, intellectually curious, and fun team. The compliance specialist will participate in a variety of projects and initiatives. The main area of work for this team is merger and acquisition support.

Amazon joins forces with other dynamic and successful companies to offer its customers top shelf products and services. This team works to ensure the best possible experience for employees during the merger process. The work includes analysis of HR-related obligations, legacy programs and benefits, and other aspects of the existing HR programs. The individual will work with a number of COEs in order to ensure implementation of programs and to remediate identified gaps. Additional projects in the area of HR compliance may also be assigned. Some international and domestic travel (up to 25%) may be required as a part of this work.

The successful candidate will possess an ability to see the minutia as well as the big picture, the ability to take in a large amount of information that is ambiguous and contradictory and provide a succinct and insightful analysis, possess strong project and program management skills, is able to prioritize in an ever-changing environment, and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Insatiable curiosity and the drive to look beyond the surface is invaluable in this role. Knowledge of the mergers and acquisition process, broad HR knowledge, as well as experience working with HR systems and vendor management is highly preferred. He or she will have a passion for customer service that the world associates with and expects from Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of HR experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, policy/program development, project management, compliance, international HR, HR management, and/or in a senior generalist role
2+ years of project and/or program management experience
2+ years of experience using HR branded or proprietary software (i.e., PeopleSoft, Workday, Taleo, iCims, etc.)
MS Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in mergers and acquisitions
HR policy development
International HR experience
Software skills: Visio (process maps) and SharePoint (Web content management), PeopleSoft, iCIMS, content management software
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Chinese, Japanese, French, Arabic, and/or another foreign language
Bachelor's degree in human resources, English, history, political science, or humanities-related major
