• Work with various internal teams (including technical) for project planning that includes collecting requirements, evaluating alternatives, and developing processes and tools
• Challenge the status quo and fosters shared understanding, transparency, mastery, autonomy, innovation and continuous learning
• Manage a team of Researchers and Engineers to drive project goals and improve the process and efficiency constantly
• Manage operations of the projects including schedule, budget, logistics, staffing and resource/equipment planning
• Partner closely with the research teams, engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholder teams to develop specifications for projects and ensure they can be executed effectively
• Act as a liaison between research, Hardware, Software teams ensuring there is alignment and all parties are contributing to the program objectives
• Use data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations and drive actions
• Continuously evaluate and refine tools and processes to ensure they are efficient, high quality, and scalable
• Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths
• Travel to domestic and international locations as needed to manage remote teams and remote project

Basic Qualifications

• BS/BA in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years as a Project or Program Manager.
• Prior experience of mentoring people/managing people by influence

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical/relevant field
• Experienced in managing vendor partners
• Past experience managing people either directly or through influence
• Organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to deliver in a fast paced environment.
• Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization
• Familiarity with speech or language data, including experience with evaluation methods for speech and language processing
• Strong technical proficiency, preferably with experience and passion for product development in speech recognition and natural language processing areas.
• Ability to lead large, fast-moving projects at both domestic and international scale
• Proven experience with juggling and prioritizing a broad range of projects at once, willingness to hustle
• Availability to regularly work in a field location(s) in the Bay Area area, including ability to get to and from the office and the field on a frequent basis
• Availability nights and weekends for on-call work as needed
• Availability to travel domestically or globally in project need basis
