THE ROLE
· Design, develop and maintain a highly distributed, scalable multiplayer environment using high quality C++ code
· Implement distributed game simulation code that hides complexity from the game team developer
· Make architectural decisions on code and data that provide for long term maintenance and resilient operation of the game service
· Monitor, measure, and improve system stability and developer iteration time
· Proactively identify and solve problems before they affect the development team
· Work with game system teams to architect their systems for network play, advise and help with integration

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
· 3-5 years experience or background in C++ network programming (TCP/IP, UDP, async systems)
· Experience creating high frequency state replication between network entities that is maximized for latency and bandwidth efficiency
· Experience in real time networking, including compensation for variable order and timing in data (interpolation/extrapolation, fast route optimizations)
· Thorough understanding of the Windows network stack and ideally also Linux
· High performance data design and coding experience against large data systems

Preferred Qualifications

· A passion for video games
· Game industry experience working on PC games
· Strong communication skills across different teams and technical backgrounds
· Experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers and providing direction
· Both Windows and Linux general usage and code development
· Python and C# scripting experience
