Are you excited about the incredible opportunity that cloud computing represents? Are you passionate about delivering high quality services and ready to apply your experience at massive scale?
Amazon Web Services' Cloud Storage, AWS S3, is one of the largest distributed storage systems in the world. We host trillions of objects and serve millions of requests per second and we're growing. As our customers store more and more data in S3, we want to make it easier for them to manage this data at scale.
The Data Intelligence group’s mission is to help customers understand ‘what’ data they have, ‘how’ their data is being used, and the ‘actions’ they can take on their data via insights and analytics. The insights that this team provides allows customers to explore storage cost trends to identify cost optimization opportunities, such as when to transition data to a less expensive storage class. We use data science, machine learning, and business intelligence to transform mass quantities of data from information to actionable knowledge. To do this at S3’s scale we invent new algorithms, operate huge map reduce clusters, and utilize key AWS services for streaming analytics, data warehousing, and insights. In 2016, we launched 3 Storage Management features to help our customers: S3 CloudWatch Metrics, S3 Storage Class Analysis and S3 Inventory. While this emerging area of computing has seen tremendous growth over the past few years, we are still in the early stages of realizing its full potential. We're looking for a smart, passionate and visionary leader to help us continue to define this exciting new technology. The Software Development Manager role will be focused on all of the technology solutions for helping customers manage their data stored in the cloud. You will have the opportunity to impact customers worldwide by working with development teams across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon S3’s customers. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable drilling into technical architecture and design, digging into business requirements and product planning and hiring and managing a team in delivering high quality software on time.
