Job Description

The AWS Admin Services and Tools team delivers innovative services that address the governance, risk, and compliance needs of enterprise and other large customers without sacrificing core benefits of the cloud such as agility and self-service. Current services include AWS CloudTrail and AWS Config. We seek to give customers better control over their cloud resources than they have ever had over their on-premises resources by taking advantage of the cloud’s unique capabilities, and we seek to do this without slowing down developer and devops teams with heavyweight processes.

As the GM of CloudTrail & Config, you will be responsible for AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, and other new services in this area. You will manage the roadmap for future product development, including new services, new features for existing services, operational improvements for existing services, and regional expansion. In this role, you will have a chance to interact with large AWS customers, including leading edge enterprises and high-growth startups, and use their feedback to drive innovation. Your team will include development, operations and product management for this set of services, covering all AWS regions. You’ll hire talented engineers and bring them together as a team to innovate and deliver. You will leverage your experience with distributed systems and central administrators as customers to define and build secure, reliable, scalable, fast, cost-effective, and easy-to-use products. You’ll help set – and will be expected to deliver on – aggressive goals for adoption, operational performance, and feature delivery.

You will report to the Vice President of AWS Developer and Management Tools, will be part of the AWS leadership team, and will be part of the technical leadership community at Amazon. You’ll play a critical role in business planning, working closely with senior executives to develop business targets, resource requirements, and influence our long-term technical and business strategy.

To be successful in this role you’ll need an established background in managing and leading software teams, interacting with enterprise and other large customers, and building web-scale distributed systems. You’ll need strong customer relationship skills, including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying customers’ feature requests. Strong team building skills are essential as you’ll be building your new team from the ground up.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 10+ years people management experience
